The

into two parts: The first part started at 15.30 in Jiaojuo's Conference
Center and the second part started at 20.00 that same evening in
the Sport Center's closed stadium. This spectacular event included
music, dancing and singing from the best artist groups of China
as well as Taijiquan demonstrations from the greatest Masters of
the art. The following morning, the competitors traveled by bus
to the world famous Chen Village, home of today's Taijiguan, which
is near Jiaozuo city. The aim of this visit was to pay homage to
the Taijiquan ancestors who created, refined and handed down the
art to the present day.
The
Chen Village had been prepared for a great celebration for the multitudes
of visitors. Besides, touring the village and sightseeing, the visitors
were taken to the Grand Taiji Museum built recently in the village.
There, the visitors were guided through halls and corridors filled
with statues and murals depicting the greatest Taiji Masters of
the past. There, were also many exhibits of the Masters' personal
items (weapons, manuscripts, diaries, etc.).
In
an enormous area near the village, an area intended for an open
stadium where the next International Taijiquan Championships will
be held, a thousand students from the Chen Village lined up in perfect
order and dressed in traditional Taiji uniforms performed with precision
and synchronization a traditional Chen style form. The crowd responded
with a burst of applause. Then the visitors were guided to the new
closed stadium of the Village, a four storey pagoda shaped building,
containing training gyms, conference halls and other sport facilities.
Although almost ready, the stadium will not be in operation until
the next International Taijiquan Championship.
On
a specially designed platform, Taiji champions and Grandmasters
performed a spectacular demonstration. Empty hand forms, traditional
weapons forms, pushing hands, Q. Qong exercises, etc. The famous
"Four Diamonds" or "Four Tigers" of Chen Taiji, were present and
their performance was breathtaking. The four top Masters of Chen
Tai Chi, Chen Xsiao Wang, Chen Jen Lei, Wang Xian and Zhou Tian
Cai, demonstrated at the opening and closing ceremony as well as
at a special festival held in the town of Jiazuo during the days
of the championship.
The
Championships competition began in the afternoon of the same day
and continued for the following three days from 8.00 - 12.00, 14.30
- 18.00 and 19.30 - 21.00. At the same time, exhibitions from famous
Taiji Masters took place daily at 8.00 and 14.30 for the whole duration
of the championship. These exhibitions took place on the 1st floor
of Jiaozuo's Sport Center and on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th floor
of the closed stadium of the city's sport academy. According to
the official schedule of the championship, twenty two famous Taiji
Masters demonstrated these 4 days. These include the "Four Diamonds
of Chen Taiji" as well and the top masters from the Yang, Wu, Hua
and the styles from the modern Wushu Taiji.
Besides these exhibitions, the Masters held seminars on a daily
basis from 14.30 - 18.00. During his stay, Master Tang Tung Wing
attended all of his teacher's Grand Master Wang Xian seminars as
well as other seminars. Also, on the days of the competition, a
culture festival of traditional performance arts of China was held
at Dong Fanghong Square of Jiaozuo city, from 20.00 - 21.30. The
best performers of traditional music, dancing and acrobatics of
China held open shows. Along with the performers, masters and champions
of all ages and all Taiji styles gave impressive demonstrations
of their art.
During
the championship, a scientific Taijiquan conference was organized,

The
level of technical skill of the candidates was described by Grand

for only four years.
The
fact that Greece is the only country in the world - apart from China

the Kung Fu systems that he, himself represents, is particularly
impressive. This is yet, another unique achievement for "Tang's
